Services Set For Dan Algeo, Cardinal O’Hara Football Coach

Like father, like son. Dan Algeo followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a football coach with success along the way, particularly at Cardinal O’Hara High School.

Today family and friends are mourning the loss of the 49-year old coach, who suffered a heart attack earlier in the week and passed away Thursday morning. Algeo was 49 years old. Dan Algeo’s father, Jim Algeo, was a long time coach at Lansdale Catholic. Dan Algeo, a graduate of Lansdale Catholic, coached under his father at LC. Algeo won two catholic league titles at Cardinal O’Hara. This fall would have marked his 11th season as coach of the Lions.  Funeral services are scheduled for July 8th and July 9th at Saint Stanislaus church in Lansdale. Visitation hours will be held at the church Tuesday evening, July 8th, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday morning from 9 to 11. A funeral mass will immediately follow visitation Wednesday morning.
