After missing out on the World Series fun for the past 15 years, the Phillies returned after beating the LA Dodgers 5-1 to win the NL pennant 4 games to 1.
Series MVP Cole Hammels went seven innings, giving up one run on five hits while striking out five. Hammels was 2-0 in the series giving up just 3 runs in 14 innings of work.
Jimmy Rollins set the tone for the evening, opening up the game with his second lead off  HR  of the post season on a full count off losing pitcher Chad Billingsley.
The World Series opens up Wednesday night at the home of the American League winner.  Tampa Bay leads the Boston Red Sox’s in that series 3-1.
