The Souderton School Board has sold its old high school campus in Souderton Borough. Metro Development Company of Philadelphia will pay $11,000,000 for that land as well as the district athletic fields in Hilltown. Between them the property measures about 43 acres. Metro plans to build a mix of residential, retail and office uses in Souderton Borough. The Natatorium is the only existing structure on the high school campus that would escape the wrecking ball. Metro wants to convert it into a fitness center. The sale of the property must still be approved by a Montgomery County judge but settlement could come as soon as next September or could be delayed until the end of the following year.
