The death penalty is off the table for a Conshohocken man who allegedly beat his wife to death more than 15-months ago. 45-year-old Joseph Giongo faces first degree murder charges but Montgomery County law enforcement officials announced after his arraignment Friday that the aggravating circumstances needed for a capital punishment case do not exist. Investigators say Giongo beat his wife to death after an arguement about a fast food order. The seven-year-old son of the couple witnessed the murder. The attorney representing Giongo appears ready to mount an insanity defense.
