A fact finder will issue a recommendation Monday after hearing testimony about contract negotiations between the Souderton Area School Board and the two unions that represent the secretaries and educational support personnel of the district. The recommendation will remain under wraps until the school board and two unions vote on it the following week. The proposed contract will be released for public scrutiny after that and if any of the three parties initially reject the recommendation, there will be another round of voting. Rejection of the fact finder’s report twice will set the stage for more negotiations and raises the possibility of a strike. In the meantime, non-binding arbitration continues between the school board and district teachers. The arbitrator could issue a report within six weeks.
