A three member arbitration panel Friday handed down a recommended settlement in the Souderton School District teacher contract dispute. The school board and union have ten days to vote the proposal up or down. The details will remain under wraps until that happens. If either party rejects the proposed settlement, the specifics will be made public and another vote will have to be held. Another rejection could set the stage for the second tecaher strike of this school year.
Details of the agreement remain secret until the voting. If it’s rejected by either side, it will be made public. The party that rejected it, would vote again. If there is still no settlement, Souderton teachers could take to the picket lines for the second time during the current school year.
