Souderton Borough Buying Land

Souderton officials are buying some property in neighboring Franconia Township.   Borough Council approved the purchase of ten acres at Cherry Lane and Souderton-Hatfield Pike Monday night.   A new public works garage will be built there in a few years to replace the current facility on Second Avenue.   The property in Franconia is currently the home of Scholl Brothers Excavating and a building with a six bay garage stands there now.   That structure will be utilized for storage and other purposes until the borough is ready to put up the new public works garage.   The selling price is one-point-two million dollars and settlement will happen before the end of this year.
