A Norristown man who admitted robbing the Sovereign Bank branch in the Mercer Square Shopping Center in Doylestown Township in June has been given four to ten years in state prison.
32-year-old Christopher Flounders pleaded guilty to robbery and other offenses in Bucks County Court. After the robbery he ran to the nearby Cross Keys Place shopping center and boarded a SEPTA bus in front of a K-Mart. A Plumstead township police officer stopped the bus, and the suspect went out the back door. He was captured a short time later in a wooded area just north of the shopping center.
