Lansdale Flu Clinic

Pregnant women, children and others at high risk are invited to a free Montgomery County Health Department H1 N1 flu clinic Thursday in Lansdale. Department Director Joseph DiMino says a pandemic is still with us for the disease commonly known as the Swine Flu, but it’s nowhere near as bad as a pandemic that broke out in 1918.

“The 1918 was devastating, but then they didn’t have the controls that we have today, they didn’t have the hygiene that we have today, and we still don’t know what all this vaccine can do.  1918 really started in the fall of 1917 and it wasn’t over until the spring of 1921.”

Doctor DiMino says the second wave of the current pandemic is winding down, but he predicts a third wave will come in the spring, so shots people get in a few days or weeks will still protect them.  The walk-in clinic runs from 2:00 to 5:00 Thursday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Main Street and Valley Forge Road in Lansdale.
