Manhunt For Road Rage Shooting Suspect

wnpv_police_beatPolice are searching for the man accused of shooting a woman during a morning rush-hour road rage incident two weeks ago on route 422, near the Oaks interchange. 50-year-old John Yannarell of Gilbertsville put up 50-thousand dollars cash bail three days after he turned himself in.  But yesterday he failed to show up for a preliminary hearing, which makes him a fugitive.  A judge has issued a warrant for his arrest.  Defense lawyer Saul Solomon says his client was distraught on Wednesday night after learning that he faced new charges for two other road rage incidents.  He is charged with attempted murder and other offenses in the shooting and wounding of 31-year-old Elizabeth Cox of Pottstown.  He allegedly fired one shot through the side of her car, striking her on the leg and elbow.  She was released from a hospital after treatment.  Court documents say he shot at a driver in late January during the afternoon rush hour, on Route 100 in Upper Pottsgrove, and threw a full bottle of Gatorade at another driver in September, on Route 422 near the Sanatoga interchange.  Those drivers were not injured.
