Flyers Send Devils Packing

wnpv_sportsBrian Boucher stopped all 28 shots the New Jersey Devils thew at him  last night as the Philadelphia Flyers beat New Jersey 3-0 thus eliminating the  Devils four games to one  in opening round Stanley Cup playoff action.
Danny Briere got the Flyers on the scoreboard a little over three minutes into the game with the Flyers on the power play. It was Briere’s second goal of the playoffs. Teammate Claude Giroux would had two more in the second period to ice the game for Philadelphia.
For Boucher, who recorded his second career playoff shutout, the victory meant a little revenge for the 33 year-old U.S. born netminder. Back in 2000, during Boucher’s first tour with the Flyers, he and his teammates built up a 3-1 series advantage against New Jersey, on to see the Devils storm back and capture capture the seven game set.
The Flyers will play the Washington / Montreal series survivor. The Capitals lead the Canadians three games to one with game five Friday night in Washington.’
