The Montgomery County Office of Aging and Adult Services has joined with several other agencies in honoring residents who are 100 years of age and beyond by the end of this year. Community Relations Consultant Linda Pancio of Acts Retirement Life Communities says a celebration will be held later this month at Brittany Pointe Estates in Upper Gwynedd, and it will be the first time the county has held a special event honoring its centenarians.
“Delaware County has been doing this for about seven years with much success, and we figured it was high time that we honored our centenarians here in Montgomery County. I’m very privileged, working in an Acts community, that I do know centenarians. We have quite a few here at the community where I work, which is Normandy Farms, and to be able to not only honor our own residents, but every centenarian in Montgomery County, has been an honor for me. It’s been a lot of work, but it’s been extremely gratifying as well.”
Pancio says the celebration is being held on Friday, May 21, but it requires an RSVP by this Friday, May 7. To reserve a space, or to get an invitation for a centenarian you know, call 215-855-1298.
