Shapiro Understands Why Public Was Absent From 2 Hearings

The Montgomery County Commissioners are considering a budget for next year. They held two public hearings last week on the no tax increase spending plan and no one came to offer input. Commissioner Chairman Josh Shapiro says that might not necessarily be a bad thing.

“I think the public has an appreciation for the hard work the Commissioners and our staff have done to help rebound the finances in Montgomery County, and I think it is pretty clear that when things are working in government, fewer people show up to speak out. It is when things are not working out they show up.”

The Commissioners will take final action on the proposed budget at their December 18th meeting.
