Local Commuters Weigh in on The Amtrak crash

Commuters at the Septa station in Lansdale weighed in about the Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia that took the lives of eight passengers aboard train 1-88 Tuesday night. Greg, from Lansdale, was waiting for a train bound for Wilmington. He says the cause of the fatal crash seems obvious.

“That driver was just going at a high rate of speed and doing what he was supposed to do.”

Paul Crookston is a news intern at a television station in Philadelphia. He was at the Lansdale station waiting for a train to take him into center city.

“Yeah, big deal, first day of the internship was when it happened, so all of having a crazy start to things, but as far as the trains, I’d say I trust the trains, accidents happen. It’s not the sort of thing that I freak out about.”
