New Electric Contract Could Benefit Lansdale Residents

Electric consumers in Lansdale could catch a break as a result of the contract extension Borough Council has approved with its current power supplier. The Borough buys power in bulk through a consortium for resale within its borders. The contract extension locks in lower wholesale rates for the next 7 and a half years. Council member Rich Digregorio chairs the Borough Electric Committee.

“Hopefully we can help the residents out and we’re going to get more details about how we can work things out. Long term it’s going to be a great savings for us.”

The contract extension calls for a wholesale rate drop in excess of ten percent and the new pricing schedule is effective immediately.
