The Montgomery County Commissioners last week issued a proclamation honoring foster parents that take care of children that need to get out of their family situation.
The county is currently the legal custodian of about 300 kids. Laurie O’connor is the Director of the County Office of Children and Youth.
“Many people don’t have an adequate understanding of foster care or the number of children across the county who need someone to support them for a temporary period of time while their families are in crisis.”
The county has about 100 licensed foster parents. For more information about the county foster care program, visit Montcopa.org
