The Judicial Crisis Network says it’s a dangerous time due to the likely nomination by President Obama of another Supreme Court Justice due to the death of Antonin Scalia.
Chief Counsel and Policy Director for the Judicial Crisis Network, Carrie Severino says, the President is going to attempt to cement a five Justice liberal majority on the court.
“There’s people who are already writing about the direction they’re hoping will push the court and really gutting 2nd Amendment rights, moving all of the restrictions on partial birth abortions, opening the door for unleashing the E.P.A. and the I.R.S. and that is something I think a lot of Americans are concerned about.”
Severino, a guest on WNPV’s AM Edition Thursday morning, says there’s a push from lawmakers, including Pennsylvania U.S. Senator, Pat Toomey, calling for the President to wait until the Presidential election is over to make a decision.
