Some more challenges are in the works for motorists that use green lane road in Towamencin.
It will be closed in both directions under the turnpike overpass for as long as five days starting this Friday. The shutdown will allow the contractor doing the turnpike widening project an opportunity to replace a 100-foot long storm water pipe that has rusted out. Township Manager Rob Ford says the culvert belongs to the township and the contractor is doing the work without charge.
“So that’s a very good thing in light of that would have been something we would of has to replace and had to close the road too. This way we’re getting paid for as part for as part of the Turnpike Widening Project.”
Drivers are also reminded that once green lane road is open again it is subject to single lane closures between 7 am and 5pm until it closes down again for about two and a half months this summer.
