Statistics from the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts show drivers in Montgomery and Bucks Counties continue to text behind the wheel.
It’s the second year in a row that Montgomery County finished at the top of the list for texting citations with 298. Bucks came in 4th statewide with 183 citations.
“The statutes covered distracted driving, which does include texting and some people don’t realize that includes receiving and sending e-mail. It also covers the use of headphones or earphones while the car is in motion.”
Kim Bathgate, spokesperson for the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts says, citations for texting while driving were up across the state by 43 percent in 2015.
