Classes in the Upper Perkiomen School District were cancelled Monday after a threat of extreme violence directed at the district was discovered on social media at around 1:14 in the morning.
State and local police were notified and classes were cancelled. Superintendent Alexis McGloin has released another update on the district’s website saying that the person who made the threat has been identified. There is no longer any threat. After school activities were out back on schedule. Classes will resume Tuesday. A State Police official from the Skippack Barracks says, the investigation continues, but no charges have been filed against the person that was identified and there is no credible threat. The official says it’s possible the posting was a misunderstanding. The post was taken down shortly after it was posted.
