Septa Proposes Changes to Route Through Souderton

Septa has scheduled a public hearing at Souderton Borough hall at two in the afternoon a week from Wednesday to get input on a proposed service change for the Route 1-32 bus that stops in Souderton as it runs between Telford and the Montgomery Mall.

Transit Agency Suburban Service Planning Manager Mark Cassel was at the Borough Council meeting Tuesday night to update Souderton officials about the proposal. He said the change would make it easier for bus riders to access the Hilltown Shopping Center and County Line Plaza:

“Taking one side of the triangle that we currently serve and switching it to two sides of the triangle to provide access to retail district and also to a clinic that’s Grand View Hospital and CHOP, IT’S ON Bethlehem Pike, we think that’s going to be beneficial to the community.”

Cassel also says that the change would increase ridership for the bus line and could come as early as September.
