Firefighters Battle Blaze in East Norriton

Multiple Fire Departments battle a two alarm blaze at the Dekalb Apartment Complex on the 2600 block of Dekalb Pike Sunday afternoon at around 1:30. Smoke heavily damaged about six apartment units.

There were no injuries reported, but 100 residents in the apartment complex were displaced. The American Red Cross was able to set up a shelter at Norristown High School for residents who can’t go back to their units. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within an hour. According to reports, a towel caught fire in a 3rd floor kitchen.
