Resident in Perkasie Surrenders to Police After Standoff

Some tense moments in Perkasie after a resident allegedly engaged in a standoff with police over a mental health matter.

Police arrived on the 200 block of Parkridge drive, just before 10 Saturday night. Officers were serving a mental health warrant. According to police, the resident did not cooperate and police believed the resident was armed. Numerous police departments responded to the neighborhood, along with the Central Bucks Special Response Team. Shortly after 11pm Saturday, the resident surrendered to police. Police discovered a shotgun in the home. No one else was inside the home. The resident was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
