In response to the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s day, students across the country will again hold a walk-out to bring attention to gun control.
The North Penn School District has weighed-in on the subject and will allow students to take part in the walkout on March 14th. In a statement released by District Superintendent, Curt Dietrich, students will be permitted to exit the school at determined location where the names of the 17 victims will be read. Students who would like to take part in the walkout will be excused. Classes will continue for students who choose not to participate. The North Penn School Board is also supports students in their right to take part in the walkout.
