Head-on Drug Induced Crash Could Lead to Long Sentence

A Doylestown man could a face a lengthy prison term in connection with a crash that severely injured two people during a head-on crash in Hatfield at around 7pm January 31st of last year.

30 year old Patrick Kelly admitted in Montgomery County Court that he was under the influence of heroin, painkillers and sedatives when his vehicle crossed the center line on 1000 block of Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield, striking a pick-up truck. The driver sustained facial other injuries, the female passenger was thrown from the pick-up, suffering a list of injuries, including a fractured pelvis. Kelly could face 12 ½ to 25 years behind bars when he’s sentenced later this year. An evaluation of Kelly has been ordered. He has two prior arrests for DUI.
