New Congressional Map Will Stay in Place

The new redistricting map recently put in place by the State Supreme Court will remain as the congressional map for Pennsylvania.

A panel of Federal Judges and the U.S. Supreme Court declined to block the map. A group of State and Federal lawmakers from Pennsylvania who said the map favored Democrats. The primary is set for May 15th. Tuesday is filing day for candidates. Democrats were successful in getting the previous map thrown out after the State Supreme Court rule that it favored Republican candidates. The new map created several new districts, including the 4th District, which covers the majority of Montgomery County.
