Motorists that get a parking ticket in Lansdale have been given more time to pay. The old deadline was 72-hours but Borough Council has extended it to seven business days.
Mayor Garry Herbert says with four more days to come up with the money, only scofflaws will get saddled with late payment fees.
“Usually what happened was there was an additional fine for being late and that additional fine was fairly significant and so we decided by extending the period of time it justified the increase in the fine for later on.”
Mayor Herbert initiated the payment extension after a Borough resident complained about the old 72-hour deadline being punitive.
