Lansdale Man Charged with Murdering Adoptive Father

A Lansdale man is behind bars on charges of 1st and 3rd degree murder, accused of murdering his adoptive father.

Police say the murder weapon was a butter knife. 30 year old, Preston Lonnberg-Lane called 911 just before 5am on March 27th to report the incident. When police arrived at the family home on Delaware Avenue in Lansdale, Lonnberg-Lane was standing outside the home with blood on his shirt. Inside a bedroom, his adoptive father, 74 Thomas lane was suffering from injuries to his head, neck, face and eye. Police say Lonnberg-Lane told detectives, prior to the attack, he had snorted what he believed were two bags of Fentanyl. He told police he tried to pull his adoptive father’s eye out. Thomas Lane died of his injuries on March 29th at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. The Montgomery County Coroner says the 74 year old man also showed signs of being strangled. Lonnberg-Lane also told police he stopped the attack when his father said to him.. Preston, Preston, what are you doing.
