Cosby’s Lead Attorney Calls Andrea Constand a Con Artist

In day two of Bill Cosby’s sex assault trial the defense had its turn to address the jury of seven men and five women.

WNPV’s Pete Reinert was in Norristown to hear opening statements from the defense.

“The defense took about 40 minutes in its opening argument. Cosby attorney, Tom Mesereau called alleged victim Andrea Constand, a con artist, who stiffed friends for money, calling her an opportunist with a history of financial problems, until she cashed in Cosby,”

In the prosecutions opening statements on Monday, D.A. Kevin Steele said Andrea Constnad was betrayed by Bill Cosby, and that’s why he agreed to the large settlement of nearly 3.4 million dollars. Cosby is on trial for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his Cheltenham Township home in 2004.
