In Montgomery County Court Wednesday in Bill Cosby’s sex assault case, the defense called on Judge Steven O’Neill to declare a mistrial based on testimony from Heidi Thomas, who alleges Cosby sexually assaulted her in 1984 on a Nevada ranch.
The defense asked her about a facebook message she sent to Andrea Constand, stating that she had Constand’s back. Thomas admitted she sent the message and wanted to help Constand. Thomas then told the jury she wants to make sure a serial rapist is convicted. Following those words to the jury, Cosby’s law team called for a mistrial, which Judge Steven O’Neill denied. Cosby is on trial accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his Cheltenham Township home in 2004.
