It’s the time of year when the weather is warm and residents start to begin attending to the needs of their home and in some cases are offered help in carrying out those chores.
The Director of the Bucks County Department of Consumer Protection, Mike Bannon reminds homeowners not to fall for the door to door salesperson pitch, who offers to do work on your home.
“A lot of these guys are friendly and slick at the same time. They offer work on your home or promise to pave your driveway and they’re doing work just down the street. Some residents have really been duped into handing over thousands of dollars for work and the scammers may do a little bit of what they promised, but in many cases they never return to finish the job.
Bannon, a guest on WNPV’s AM Edition Tuesday says it’s never a good idea to deal with a door to door salesperson. He adds, get a reputable referral for home repairs.
