Skippack Bike Day

motorcyclesThe Blue Comets Motorcycle Club held its first annual Bike Day Saturday in Skippack. Victor Gornizky of Oreland rides with the Mavericks Motorcycle Club, and he loves riding.

“It’s a nice club, and the people are nice, it’s open road and summertime, and it’s wind in your face and you just go.  Being on the outside with my friends, it’s the pleasure of it.  I bought a BMW, but then I got married and I didn’t ride again for 33 years.  The first thing my wife did was sell my bike, but now I’ve bought another bike and I’m riding again.”

Blue Comets club member Paul Isabella of Sanatoga says riding a motorcycle is very relaxing.

“You can’t ride and think about your problems.  It’s just a total different way of life.  So is fishing, but with the breeze blowing through your hair and communing with nature at its closest level it is the best way, and I’m a fisherman also, so it doesn’t beat riding a motorcycle, and you know what’s best?  I have done this.  Two weeks ago I threw my fishing pole on my motorcycle, went to the Poconos and fished, so fishing and motorcycling do go together.  The only problem is carrying your fish on the motorcycle is a little difficult.”

Isabella says the Skippack business people suggested Bike Day, and it was very good for business.  He says the Blue Comets Motorcycle Club has been around since 1937, with a clubhouse in Skippack.
