Suds, Food And Fun At Beer Fest

wnpv_arts_entertainmentThe Lansdale Beer Tasting Festival is coming up next week, and Chairman Drew Stockmal says 25 small craft brewers will be on hand. “Each of those brewers is going to bring two beers, and we’re going to allow ticket holders to sample each one of them.  We’re going to have food on hand to pair with the beer, and we’re going to have entertainment as well.  It’s just a way for people to get out and enjoy some really fine craft beers.  We’ve got four food vendors that will be building their menus around the beers that are going to be offered, so they’re going to say, ‘This is a pale ale so this is the type of food that would go great with that, or this is a stout and this is the type of food that would pair well with that.’  The food is being specifically made for the beers that we’re going to have on hand.”

Stockmal says it grew out of conversations he and other event organizers had about how to raise money for the Lansdale Public Library and other local charities, and they thought the beer tasting festival would be a fun way to help them out.  Tickets are $35 for unlimited beer sampling, and $10 for non-drinkers who want in on the fun.  They are on sale Saturday at the Lansdale Farmers’ Market, and proceeds benefit the market, the library and Manna on Main Street.  The festival runs from 1:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday, July 10, rain or shine, in the Madison Street Parking Lot.
