Schwenkfelder Community Center Holds Open House

The Central Schwenkfelder Church held an open house Saturday at its new Community Center on Steelman Road in Worcester, behind the church. It was under discussion for about 40 years, and the 17,000 square foot building was finally finished last fall.

It contains a multi-sport gymnasium, bleachers for spectators, two classrooms, a lounge and a small kitchen.  It is used for a number of activities including the church’s youth ministries, and several outside groups use it including the North Penn YMCA and various youth sports organizations.

A baseball field and picnic pavilion are already located outside, and church officials hope an outdoor soccer field will be finished by fall.  It is available for rentals as long as private events don’t conflict with church events.
