Souderton celebrated its 125th anniversary Saturday with a big parade. Borough Council President Brian Goshow said they had a great crowd.
“The streets are lined with people everywhere. When we started this whole process this was going to be the headliner of the whole act. We have a year-long celebration going on here, but this is it.”
Goshow is Co-Chair of the Anniversary Committee, and he said other events are planned for later this year.
Univest was the parade’s lead sponsor, and President and CEO Bill Aichele said the bank has 32 branches in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, but Souderton is still home.
“This community has helped the bank to be successful, and the bank continues to give back to the community, and together we’re very successful.”
Aichele said the original 1876 building still stands on Main Street, fully restored.
