The North Wales Tuba Quartet provided musical entertainment in the North Wales Fourth of July Parade. It was followed by a community picnic at Weingartner Park. Mayor Doug Ross says the turnout was very good when you consider the heat, and the people came out to celebrate not only their nation’s birthday, but also their home town’s old-fashioned small town community spirit.
“It’s a family oriented event, and it’s run in a very friendly way.”
The current Miss Keystone, Erin Price of Perkasie, was an honored guest at the North Wales celebration. She says Miss Keystone is affiliated with the Miss America pageant, but it’s not the same thing as Miss Pennsylvania.
“Miss Pennsylvania is a state title and Miss Keystone is a regional title, so I have the eastern regional title.”
Price says she’s entering her junior year at West Chester University, where she’s studying music education and voice.
