SEPTA Looking At High-Speed Line Extension To K Of P

SEPTA_Train_newSEPTA holds three public open house meetings this week on plans to extend the Norristown High-Speed Line to the King of Prussia malls and nearby business parks.

SEPTA Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis Byron Comati says the line would probably branch off from one of two existing stations in Upper Merion Township.

“They would be in the Hughes Park area, the Gulph Mills area, and try to branch off at that point and find the best alignment that gets us to the King of Prussia Mall.  From a planner’s standpoint it needs to be supported very much by environmental analyses that go hand in hand.”

Comati says they’re looking at several alternatives that will be displayed on maps.  All three meetings run from 4:00 until 8:00pm.

The first one is Tuesday, January 29, at the Valley Forge National Historical Park Education Center, the second one is Wednesday at Garey Hall at Villanova University and the third one is Thursday at the Montgomery County Planning Commission offices in Norristown.
