Lansdale officials have hired a Jenkintown accounting firm to conduct a review and evaluation of borough operational and financial controls. Amper Certified Public Accountants will put the administration of former Borough Manager Lee Mangan under the microscope to determine if there was any abuse of authority in the spending of municipal funds. The request for proposals that went out earlier this year referenced Mangan by name. Borough Council member Dan Dunigan says that was a matter of convenience and doesn't make the review any more or less directed at an individual than it would have been otherwise. Borough Council member Jack Hansen calls the audit a witch hunt and points out that the borough was recognized more than a dozen times while Mangan was borough manager for its excellence in financial reporting.
