Homeowners in Upper Gwynedd won't have to dig any deeper into their pockets to satisfy the tax collector. The Township Commissioners have approved a budget for next year that holds the line on property taxes. Sewer rates will stay steady too. Township officials say the spending plan also includes a Homestead Exemption. That allows qualified homeowners to shelter $30,000 of the assessed value of their property from taxation. Upper Gwynedd is one of five municipalities in Montgomery County that offer the Homestead Exemption. It's been more than ten years since the last property tax increase in the township.
