The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the public to seniors. Sheriff Eileen Behr says you may have something that you no longer need that could save the life of an elderly person.
“We work with the D-A’s office and other groups educating the elderly on crime. One of the things we are doing is collecting used cell phones that people are no longer using. We reprogram the phones so they only dial 9-1-1 and we give those phones free to the elderly throughout Montgomery County.”
Behr says, Anyone who would like to donate an old cell phone and charger can drop them off at the doors to the courthouse or at One Montgomery Plaza.
