Consumer Expert: Watch Out For Big Promises In The Mail

Whether it’s scammers or business activities that may be legal, but unethical, expect things in the mail or over the phone that try to separate you from your money, according the Head of Consumer Affairs for Bucks County.

“I Have won free airline tickets, it came to my mailbox, with U-S Air, which I was very thrilled for, but knew when I got that letter it was legal. However, what they do is offer the free airline tickets, but you have to go through a hard sales pressure to sell you condos, travel or time shares.”

That’s Mike Bannon, who says people should be on guard and ready to protect their information and vacation dollars. He adds, as the economy gets better, you can expect offers that make big promises, but there’s always a catch. Bannon is a regular guest on the AM-Edition.
