An ordinance that would make landlords responsible for the behavior of their tenants is in the preliminary discussion stage among Lansdale officials. The idea is to cut down on nuisance calls that require a police response. Borough Council member, Jack Hansen days, it gives landlords a means of dealing with problem renters.
“If they get three nuisance citations within one year on one resident, then the landlord would be encouraged to start eviction proceedings.”
Hansen emphasizes that the proposed ordinance is only at the preliminary discussion stage.
