Local Consumer Expert Offers Tips to College Students
Heading off to college can be an exciting time, but it can also be a confusing time in life when considering the financial jungle that college students have to navigate in an effort to be on a good setting when starting year one. Mike Bannon, Head of the Bucks County Consumer Affairs Department says a pamphlet is available for students, particularly those students who are starting their 1st year.
“It talks about credit cards, about tuitions. There’s phony schemes and scams out there that offer help with college money, but don’t fall for that. There’s actually telemarketing scams that go after students, so that’s one of them. It also talks about general budgeting and picking the right bank that you’re going to be banking in and budgeting what money you do have.:
