The fallout after the arrest of Ken Nolan, the former treasurer of the Upper Gwynedd Fire Company, was aired out recently at a Township Board of Commissioners meeting. Nolan is accused of diverting nearly 250-thousand dollars of fire company funds for his own personal use. Commissioners President, Ken Kroberger says, Nolan betrayed the trust of all present and past members of the fire company. Some feel more involvement is needed through the township to keep an eye on financial transactions at the fire company, but the fire department functions as a separate entity and is not subject to township oversight. It was determined at the meeting that no one associated with the township or commissioners was provided with any gifts or trips from Nolan.
