Scammers are at it again, this time with “Life Alert”. Homeowners in Bucks and Montgomery Counties have received calls that a relative has purchased life alert for them.
“But they would need their credit card information and would be shipped in just a few days. They’re saying we have a spectacularly great deal on an almost free Life Alert system with all the bells and whistles and they’re tricking the residents in to giving their credit cards numbers and it’s working.”
That’s Mike Bannon, Head of the Bucks County Department of Consumer Affairs. Bannon says, the Life Alert company has been victimized and put information on its website warning people about the scam. The F-B-I is now involved in the case. Bannon was a guest on the AM-Edition this morning with Darryl Berger.
