Lansdale Mayor to Exercise Veto
The last motion approved by Lansdale Borough Council in the existing Borough Hall will be vetoed. Mayor Andy Szekely Wednesday night announced he will send subdivision and land development plans for the new municipal complex back to council for another vote. With Szekely running for reelection and the vote less than three weeks away, Council Vice President Mary Fuller questioned the motives for the veto. Szekely says his position on the issue has been clear since the discussion started. The existing Borough Hall is scheduled to close Friday, November 8th. Borough administration will be up and running again in modular office units at 645 West Ninth Street the following Wednesday.
