Teva Wants Zoning Change For New Buildings

wnpv_businessAbout 100 people turned out at Thursday’s Warrington Township Planning Commission meeting, where Teva Pharmaceutical Company officials explained why they want a zoning change. They plan to build a new North American Headquarters and Distribution Center, near Limekiln Pike, Lower State Road and County Line Road.  The plans call for about 1.5 million square feet of floor space in two buildings on a 156-acre site near the Eureka Quarry.  Opponents say the project would spoil the character of nearby residential neighborhoods and make traffic problems go from bad to worse.  The company says it can build what it wants under current zoning because most of the site is zoned industrial, but if it gets a zoning change on a 32-acre section that is zoned residential it can build a larger landscaped buffer and move truck bays farther away from nearby homes.
