Cardinal Camera, on West Second Street in Lansdale, is celebrating its 81st anniversary. Owner Kurt Seelig says his grandfather founded the business, it survived the Great Depression, and it’s still going strong today despite the recession. He says it’s largely because they have very loyal customers and very loyal employees.
“I have great help, employees who have been here for years. Bobbie, who runs the store, has been here for 25 years. Ed runs the mall store, and he’s been here for 20 years, so we have a lot of knowledgeable staff.”
Seelig says Cardinal Camera is a local family-friendly business. His company took part in the first WNPV Summer Ticket Giveaway of the season with Towamencin Family Chiropractic, located next door. Doctor Anthony Pineno says he’s been there for about two years, and business is good.
“It’s right off of Main Street compared to the other one, which was off of a real busy street with some traffic that used to back up into it, so this location just works out better for us. We have a lot of walking traffic from town, which is great. With the revitalization in the town we’ve got a lot more walking traffic. People are out and there are great restaurants around. The West Main Diner, which does a great business, is right here. We have a busy practice and Cardinal Camera is right here, we have Frank’s Pizza, so this area is really turning around. It’s been great.”
Doctor Pineno says they also have the Oasis Middle Eastern Restaurant and Starbucks, so there are many places to go on West Main Street in Lansdale.
