Rt 202 Parkway Project Going Well

road_constructionThe southern section of the Route 202 Parkway could be finished late this year, but PennDot’s Gene Blaum says it will not open until the whole highway is finished late next year. He says it’s designed to be used in its entirety, not section-by-section, and it’s worth the wait, especially if you consider how long it took to get this far.

“It’s a highway that’s been talked about for decades, and we’re moving as quickly as possible to bring it to fruition, and we have three different contractors working on the project.”

Blaum says the southern part runs roughly between Routes 63 and 463 in Montgomery Township, and once the whole highway is finished at a cost of about $200 million, it will allow quicker and less congested travel between the Lansdale and Doylestown areas.  He appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program “Comment Please by Univest.”
