The Montgomery County Common Pleas Court has joined the web-based “e-Pay” system that allows defendants to pay fines and fees over the internet using a credit or debit card. The Communications Coordinator for the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts, Steve Schell, says it makes paying more convenient.
“Many defendants at the common pleas level are on monthly payments, so they can make their monthly payments, and the luxury of the statewide e-Pay system is that eventually it’s going to be a one-stop shop in every single court within Pennsylvania, whether it’s a Magisterial District Court or a Common Pleas Court.”
Schell says the Magisterial District Courts in Montgomery County will get e-Pay next year, so even traffic tickets can be paid online.
